Sophie-Lou Tremblay practises in our construction and infrastructure group.
Her extensive experience in construction litigation has given her firsthand knowledge of the North American industry, covering all aspects of project delivery.
She adopts a pragmatic approach to finding solutions that are tailored to the needs and requirements of both public and private sector clients.
In particular, she advises industry players on risk analysis and management as well as in the drafting and negotiation of contract documents in the areas of civil and building engineering.
Having participated in numerous large-scale projects, including Canada’s first Alliancing Project Delivery contract, Sophie-Lou also supports our dispute prevention and resolution team in preparing and managing claims, both for plaintiffs and for defendants.

Representative Work
Acted as legal counsel for a transit expansion project in Toronto, which included establishing the risk profile and negotiating and reviewing the design-build-finance contract, estimated at several billion dollars.
Negotiated and signed the prime contract for the Toronto transit project—the first in Canada to use the alliance contracting mode—in addition to drafting and negotiating subcontracts worth several hundred million.
Evaluated a multimillion-dollar uranium mine decontamination project in the Northwest Territories and reviewed the prime contract.
Guided a general contractor in partnering with First Nations and reached an agreement-in-principle for economic development and joint projects in various Canadian territories.
Reviewed the contract document and developed subcontracts in the industrial, mining, infrastructure, construction and energy sectors.
Negotiated, drafted and prepared the construction contract and reached financing agreements for a sports complex in Cameroon worth several hundred million dollars.
Followed up with contractors regarding compliance with public bodies (AMP, CCQ, RBQ, BSDQ).
Developed internal processes to identify and mitigate risks for construction contractors.
