Isabelle Montpetit

Isabelle Montpetit brings more than 25 years of experience to her labour law and occupational health and safety practice. Over the course of her career, she has developed deep expertise in managing employment injuries, occupational health and safety prevention and compliance, labour relations, and strategic handling of matters before the CNESST and the Administrative Labour Tribunal. She brings together solid legal expertise, extensive management experience, a deep understanding of the challenges employers face, and a proven ability to make complex legal issues accessible. Clients value her rigorous, pragmatic, and solution-oriented approach.

She advises employers on matters including cost allocation and cost-relief applications before the CNESST, disability and absence management, employment injuries, employment standards, psychological harassment, and pay equity. She is as comfortable conducting the legal analysis of complex matters as she is developing practical solutions tailored to each organization’s needs.

Before joining our team, Isabelle spent nearly two decades at the Corporation des concessionaires d’automobiles du Québec (CCAQ), where she served as employment and occupational health and safety counsel, director of legal affairs, and director of the CCAQ’s prevention mutual. She led teams of professionals, helped develop legal and organizational strategies, and advised a large number of employers on issues ranging from straightforward to highly complex.

Active within the Québec Bar, Isabelle is a member of its Expert Group on Employment Standards, Pay Equity, and Occupational Health and Safety, where she has contributed to discussions on evolving practices and issues in employment law and occupational health and safety. She also sits on the Administrative Justice Committee, where she helps shape discussions on administrative justice and how administrative tribunals operate.

Isabelle has designed and delivered numerous webinars and training sessions for employers, managers, and professionals on topics such as the modernization of Québec’s occupational health and safety regime, the Act respecting industrial accidents and occupational diseases, cost allocation and cost-relief applications, absence management, psychological harassment, employment standards, pay equity, and statements of offence issued by the CNESST. She has also contributed to research for and updates to specialized legal publications, including LexisNexis’s collection on legislation governing the prevention of employment injuries under Québec law.
