Hubert Camirand and Daniel Baum publish an article on CBCA Shareholder Oppression in InHouse Magazine

Hubert Camirand, partner, and Daniel Baum, lawyer, both of Langlois, co-authored an article in the January 2017 issue of the Canadian Lawyer InHouse magazine, titled Is it just mere formalities? The SCC Reconsiders Shareholder Oppression Under the CBCA.

The article discusses the impact of the recent Mennillo v. Intramodal inc. case rendered by the Supreme Court of Canada, which considered whether a corporation’s non-compliance with certain formalities in the Canada Business Corporations Act (“CBCA”) can constitute shareholder oppression.

This article followed Hubert Camirand successful pleads before the Court of Appeal of Quebec, the Superior Court and the Supreme Court of Canada.
