Antoine Rancourt is a business lawyer specializing in technology, privacy, and data governance law.

Various tech companies call on him for advice on commercializing, protecting, and leveraging their intellectual property assets and technologies. He drafts and negotiates software licence and Software as a Service (SaaS) agreements, terms of use, as well as agreements that involve connected devices (Internet of Things or IoT) and AI-powered components. He also guides various organizations through the legal aspects of their online operations, including B2C e-commerce and online marketing, and provides advice on the legal framework applicable to payment platforms,  promotional contests, and ticketing.

Antoine helps businesses and organizations of all sizes comply with Canadian and Quebec privacy and anti-spam laws and advises them on how to manage cookies. He has assisted dozens of organizations in becoming compliant with the new privacy framework (commonly known as Law 25). This includes local and multinational retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, and technology companies, as well as non-profits, foundations, universities, colleges, and various large and small public bodies.

In addition, Antoine drafts and negotiates data processing agreements and assists clients in conducting privacy impact assessments (PIAs). He provides guidance on how to manage databases and store and anonymize personal information. He regularly provides advice on information security measures and helps clients manage confidentiality incidents and data leaks. He assists in handling requests to exercise various individual rights, such as the right of access, rectification, portability, and withdrawal of consent.

Antoine also often handles commercial and corporate law matters. He drafts, reviews, and negotiates various commercial agreements and assists or acts for clients in share or asset purchases or sales, corporate mergers, investments, and restructurings.
