Joanie Proteau and Catherine Bourget, both practitioners in the litigation group at Langlois Lawyers, recently published a case comment on the Court of Québec’s decision in Federal Construction inc. v. Congregation Kol Yaacov, in which the Court concluded that service of an originating application by affixing it to the door of a synagogue was valid.

Sean Griffin and Daniel Baum, respectively partner and associate at Langlois Lawyers, recently published an article entitled “Stretching the long arm of the law?” in which they provide an overview of two recent decisions that illustrate Canadian courts’ may be increasingly willing to assume jurisdiction over civil claims brought by foreign plaintiffs against Canadian multinationals operating abroad.
