Catherine Biron Joins the Québec Cinéma’s Board of Directors

The Former Chief Justice of the Superior Court of Québec Chooses Langlois

The Honourable François Rolland joins Langlois Lawyers Langlois Lawyers is extremely pleased to announce that the Honourable François Rolland, Ad. E. is joining its litigation group as senior counsel, mediator and arbitrator. A renowned jurist in Québec and Canadian legal circles, Mr. Rolland rose to prominence as a Justice of the Superior Court of Québec from 1996 to 2015, and was the court’s Chief Justice from 2004 to 2015. In addition to presiding over numerous trials and settlement conferences in all areas of civil law, including commercial disputes, class actions, as well as insolvency and corporate reorganization files, Mr. Rolland has been appointed to various public positions by the Québec and Canada governments. He is also actively involved in several organizations dedicated to improving access to civil justice, including as chair of the Board of Directors of legal education organization Éducaloi.

Langlois Is Pleased to Announce the Hiring of Two New Lawyers at Its Montréal Office

Jean-François Landry joins the litigation group in Montréal. He practices administrative law and civil and commercial litigation, primarily in the areas of professional liability, the liability of directors and officers, and insurance coverage disputes. He holds a Master's degree in Commercial Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Juris Doctor from Dalhousie University. Mike Siméon also joins the litigation group in Montréal. His practice focuses in particular on class actions, insurance law, regulatory penal law and corporate governance. During his law studies, Mike was vice-president of the Université de Montréal chapter of the Black Law Students’ Association of Canada, where he was involved in the creation of various initiatives to promote diversity within the legal community. Previously, Mike served for 10 years in the Canadian Armed Forces Primary Reserve.
