Langlois represented the principal shareholders of IBS-TUBOQUIP Industrial Equipment in its recent acquisition by Ficodis

Langlois Lawyers acted as lead counsel for the principal shareholders of Équipements Industriels IBS-TUBOQUIP in connection with its acquisition by Ficodis, a major Quebec-based industrial supply distribution group.

The acquisition of IBS-TUBOQUIP, a Quebec company specializing in the distribution of hydraulic and power transmission equipment, whose customers include the majority of Quebec’s mining sites, and whose four distribution centres are in Val-d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda, Blainville and Saint-Léonard, is a major step forward for Ficodis. The move positions the company within the mining industry and solidifies its position in the Greater Montréal area. Pierre LaRocque, one of the sons of IBS-TUBOQUIP’s founder, will remain as president of the division.

Langlois’ transaction team for the acquisition, which closed in early January 2021, consisted of Félix Bernard (mergers and acquisitions), Olivier Scheffer (mergers and acquisitions), Bruno-Olivier Bureau (mergers and acquisitions), Catherine Vaillancourt (corporate), Mylany David (real estate), Adèle Poirier (real estate) and Vanessa Des Serres (corporate/real estate).
