

Olivier Scheffer
LawyerOlivier Scheffer focuses his practice on business law, particularly mergers and acquisitions. He represents and assists a wide variety of clients, both on the buyer’s side and the seller’s side, at each stage of the transactional process. His experience includes drafting letters of intent, performing due diligence, and negotiating and drafting purchase and sale agreements. Clients also call on him in connection with their day-to-day activities to obtain advice on legal commercial matters. In addition, he has developed an environmental law practice, which has led him to advise clients on various issues related to environmental compliance and environmental obligations applicable in the context of commercial transactions.
Finally, Olivier advises clients on their obligations as regard to lobbying matters.
He practises law in English and French.
In particular, Olivier has:
- represented Cerba HealthCare International, a French multinational in the pharmaceutical sector, during its acquisition by the Canadian corporation CIRION BioPharma Research Inc.;
- represented iGuzzini illuminazione S.p.A., an international leader in architectural lighting and a member of the Fagerhult Group, in its purchase of the remaining 30% of shares of Sistemalux, a distributor of European lighting systems;
- represented Logistik Unicorp Inc., a leading international provider of uniform solutions from St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, in its acquisition of Martin & Lévesque Inc., based in Lévis;
- represented the selling shareholders of Trans Canada Insurance Marketing Inc. in the sale of all shares in the company to Navacord Inc.;
- represented The Green Organic Dutchman Holdings Ltd. in connection with the sale, for $27 million, of the majority of the assets of its subsidiary located in Valleyfield, including industrial and agricultural lands, greenhouses, support buildings and related equipment;
- advised an acquirer in the purchase of an enterprise specialized in the preparation and online sale of ready-to-eat meals, for the price of $6 million;
- advised a major Québec manufacturer in connection with all its acquisitions in Québec and abroad, including the United States and Australia.
