Vincent Plante is a pragmatic lawyer who is highly attentive to client needs. He practises corporate law, with a focus on business purchases and sales and bank financing.

He leverages his extensive knowledge in transactional law to assist clients in closing complex purchase and sale transactions and corporate reorganizations. He assists entrepreneurs and institutions in drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts.

Vincent also advises private and institutional lenders, and borrowers on developing a host of financing structures.

An entrepreneurial enthusiast at heart, Vincent takes a keen interest in the legal issues encountered during business successions and transfers in Québec. He has developed business acquisition expertise to provide buy-side support throughout the financing and acquisition process. In recent years, Vincent has guided many buyers from the business community and continues to support their everyday legal needs.

Business purchases and sales

Vincent has advised well-established entrepreneurs on various transactions, including:

  • sale of a minority interest in Les Équipements d’Érablière C.D.L. to Groupe BMR inc.
  • sale of Casavant Frères, Ltd.
  • sale of port facilities located in Anse au Foulon at the Port of Québec
  • acquisition and sale of multiple pharmacies under various banners

Financing

Vincent has advised private and institutional lenders, and borrowers on developing a host of financing structures, including:

  • Citadelle, Maple Syrup Producers’ Cooperative relating to bank financing from the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec
  • the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec and National Bank of Canada relating to current asset joint financing for RPAO s.e.c. and its subsidiaries
  • National Bank of Canada, the Fédération des caisses Desjardins du Québec and Farm Credit Canada relating to financing for Coop Avantis
  • a syndicate of U.S. lenders that financed the C$2.1-billion acquisition of a portfolio of 187 industrial properties in Québec
