Langlois is proud to have advised the Société de la Place des Arts de Montréal in connection with the rehabilitation of the Theater Building, home to Théâtre Maisonneuve, Théâtre Jean-Duceppe and Salle Claude-Léveillée. This asset-maintenance project represents a total investment of C$134 million.
Subject to Québec’s Directive on the Management of Major Public Infrastructure Projects (Directive sur la gestion des projets majeurs d’infrastructure publique), this project stands out both for its scale and for its innovative contractual approach. The selected lump-sum contracting agreement incorporates collaborative principles along with a performance-based financial incentive, a novel structure in Québec’s public infrastructure sector.
Given its innovative structure and strategic importance for Canada’s largest performing arts complex, this project reflects the growing shift toward collaborative delivery models in public infrastructure delivery.
Led by partners René-Martin Langlois and Jean-Benoît Pouliot, the Langlois team, composed of Jean-François Gagnon, Érika Scott Savard, Guillaume Crête and Louis-David Pinel (articling student), advised the Société de la Place des Arts de Montréal throughout the procurement process leading to the award of a general contracting agreement with collaborative principles.
