Corporations having activities in the U.S. are often subject to U.S. regulatory investigations. These investigations can originate from and involve the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), the Department of Justice (“DOJ”) as well as other federal, state and local agencies. This round table will focus on the regulatory investigations initiated by the SEC and the DOJ and their possible interactions. Topics will include advice on compliance issues important to U.S. regulators, as well as what to expect once an investigation is commenced. We will also discuss the need to coordinate the response to various regulators and concerns that arise where there is a risk of follow-on civil class action and other litigation.
