Langlois assists Victoriaville & Co. Inc. in completing a series of four acquisitions

During the last few months, Langlois Lawyers’ Mergers and Acquisitions team has been assisting Victoriaville & Co. Inc., one of the largest manufacturers of hardwood caskets in North America and one of the most important distributors of funeral and commemorative products, in completing four successive acquisitions:

• A strategic and equity partnership, effective March 1, 2021, with Eternity’s Touch Inc., a Wallaceburg, Ontario based company that is the Canadian pioneer in digital fingerprint capture for use in manufacturing custom jewellery and keepsakes.

• The acquisition, together with partner Vaella Consulting Inc., of all the assets of Produits Mémento (9139-6101 Québec inc.), a company based in Lévis since 1936 and operating in the funeral printing sector. The transaction was completed on December 23, 2020.
  
  
• On December 1, 2020, the acquisition of all the shares of Les Fournitures J.C.R. Inc., a Québec City-based company specializing in the distribution and manufacture of embalming products.
  
  
• On September 1, 2020, the acquisition of all the assets of Importations MEX-ON Inc., a central Quebec company that sells marble and onyx urns.

These acquisition transactions were carried out by a set of teams composed of Félix Bernard, Olivier Scheffer, Bruno-Olivier Bureau (Mergers and Acquisitions), Mylany David, Sylvie Brulotte (Real Estate), Philippe Bélisle (Employment), Catherine Vaillancourt (Corporate) and Vanessa Des Serres (Corporate).
