Jeanne Pérès is a lawyer in our Montréal office, practising in the areas of Aboriginal law and labour and employment law.

She joined the team in the summers of 2019, 2021 and 2022 as a student and as an articling student in July 2023.

During her law studies, she had the opportunity to study law abroad during a summer session at the Universidad de San José in Costa Rica, and a fall session at the Università degli Studi di Milano Statale, in Italy.

Prior to her articling, Jeanne undertook a master’s degree in Aboriginal and Indigenous Law at McGill University. As part of her thesis, she focused on the issue of the recognition and protection of Innu’s spiritual connection to the land in Canadian law. To do so, she looked not only at Indigenous legal orders, but also at the body of legislation, doctrine and case law developed in Aboriginal law.

Jeanne was awarded two research fellowships as part of her master’s degree, the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Graduate Fellowship (SSHRC) and the O’Brien Graduate Fellowship for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism, in light of the excellence of her academic record and the potential of her research.

She practises law in English and French.
