Zachary Vaillancourt is a member of our Corporate & Commercial Law group. He assists local and international companies manage an array of legal and business issues. His primary areas of expertise include business purchases or sales (mergers and acquisitions), business successions, and corporate reorganizations. He also drafts and negotiates various commercial contracts.

Having been an entrepreneur himself, Zachary is well positioned to understand and advise his clients. He founded and led an industrial chemical distribution company, where he notably negotiated an exclusive distribution agreement and established  a nationwide distribution network while navigating the commercial (B2B) and regulatory challenges specific to the sector. This experience has given him the ability to anticipate his clients’ strategic and operational needs. With his proactive and pragmatic approach, he provides solutions tailored to the realities of early-stage, growing companies. His ability to quickly grasp his clients’ business dynamics and his creativity in developing solutions make him a partner of choice for achieving business objectives in a constantly evolving environment..

Ever passionate about innovation and emerging technologies, Zachary is currently pursuing a certificate in artificial intelligence proficiency to better understand the impact this technology has on the business world. In addition to his law degree, he also holds an MBA, which is an additional asset for his clients. During his studies, he interned as a business development agent at a technology start-up.

He practises law in French and English.

  • Participated in various corporate reorganizations, notably in the construction industry;
  • Acted for a technology start-up seeking convertible debt financing;
