Alexandra Provost focuses her practice on civil and commercial litigation, insurance, and civil and professional liability. Having served a diverse client base on a wide range of complex engagements, she is very well equipped to guide clients at all stages of litigation strategy development. Clients particularly appreciate her exceptional creativity and discipline, and informed judgment.

Alexandra is regularly called upon to represent and advise professionals being sued for professional misconduct in the civil courts, insurers in insurance policy interpretation disputes, and legal persons or individuals in civil liability actions.

She holds a Licentiate in Law (LL.L.) and an Honours Bachelor’s in International Development and Globalization and offers legal services in English and French. She joined the firm as a law student in 2021 and completed her articling period in 2023.

During her law studies, Alexandra achieved outstanding academic performance, earning a host of awards, scholarships and bursaries, as well as a place on the Dean’s Honour List. She also took part in the Guy-Guérin moot court competition, where she won the prize for best examination.

Prior to joining the firm, Alexandra completed several legal internships with various government departments and non-profit organizations, and developed a keen interest in public speaking, legal drafting and access to justice.

Civil and commercial litigation

  • Attorney for a franchisee business being sued under an interim interlocutory injunction dealing in particular with whether the franchise contract concluded between the parties was null and void since its purpose was prohibited by law, and whether the non-compete clauses included in the contract were enforceable against the franchisor. The Superior Court agreed with the defendant’s arguments and dismissed the plaintiff’s action.

Insurance litigation

  • Represents and advises insurers in insurance policy interpretation disputes before the Superior Court of Québec and the Court of Québec, such as in Wellington motions.

Civil and professional liability

  • Represents a legal person being sued for civil liability as a result of bodily injuries before the Court of Québec.
  • Advises individuals and legal persons in civil liability proceedings before the Small Claims Division of the Court of Québec.
  • Assists various professionals, such as lawyers, architects and real estate brokers being sued in various professional civil liability actions.
