In the media – Two Langlois partners featured in the OAQ’s Esquisses Magazine

November 3rd, 2026

The Fall 2026 edition of Esquisses, the official magazine of Québec’s professional order of architects (the OAQ, Ordre des architectes du Québec), explores Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), a collaborative approach gaining ground across Québec’s construction industry. The issue features contributions from Langlois partners Jean Patrick Dallaire and Jean-François Gagnon, who lend their expertise to discussions on project delivery and professional liability, two important considerations for Québec’s architects and their collaborators.

In the cover story, journalist Jean-François Venne explores several projects adopting this collaborative delivery model, including the HAÙS project in Sherbrooke. Spearheaded by Les Habitations L’Équerre, a non-profit organization dedicated to social housing, the development will feature 400 affordable, environmentally sustainable housing units and will be Québec’s first private-sector project delivered using the IPD model. Jean Patrick, who supervised all legal aspects of the project alongside our colleagues Nathalie Boulanger and Alex-Anne Bouchard, discusses some of the key differences between this approach and more traditional project delivery methods.

In a second article, co-authored with the Prevention Services team of the OAQ’s Insurance Fund, Jean-François Gagnon examines the professional liability risks architects face in condominium development projects. He highlights the complexities of litigation in this context and the importance of rigorous professional practices, heightened vigilance and thorough documentation at every stage of a project to help mitigate the risk of claims.
