Accomplished constitutional lawyer Dominique A. Jobin chooses Langlois

Langlois Lawyers is delighted to announce that, after spending many years with the Québec Department of Justice, Dominique A. Jobin has joined the firm as a Partner and member of the litigation group out of the Québec City office.

Dominique’s practice is focused on constitutional advice and litigation in various criminal, civil, administrative and disciplinary contexts, particularly with respect to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms (Québec Charter). She is especially active in the areas of labour relations, privacy, language rights and policies, administrative and penal investigations, as well as in the public service sectors, notably in health and education. She advises both public bodies and private companies in matters where their actions implicate human rights and freedoms.

“With a career path that contrasts with that of most lawyers in private practice and her unique expertise, Dominique will strengthen and bolster our expertise in constitutional law. She will also be a precious resource for our up-and-coming lawyers who will have access to a lawyer with a wide breath of experiences. I am very proud that she has chosen our firm to continue her practice and I welcome her on behalf of all Langlois,” said Jean-François Gagnon, CEO of Langlois.

“After a rich career in government, joining the Langlois team allows me to further broaden my horizons. The fields of Human Rights and Freedoms and constitutional law are in constant evolution, I am excited to explore new avenues and applications for them. I look forward to lending my expertise to the firm and its reputable clientele,” shared Dominique.

Prior to joining Langlois, Dominique practised at the Québec Department of Justice as a lawyer in the Constitutional and Aboriginal Law Branch.  For more than thirty years, she advised government authorities on the conformity of draft laws and regulations as well as government action with applicable constitutional and quasi-constitutional guarantees. She has also represented the Attorney General of Québec in numerous constitutional cases before the Québec courts and has frequently appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Welcome to Langlois, Dominique!
