

Laurence Prud'homme
LawyerLaurence Prud’homme primarily practises in Aboriginal law, constitutional law, public law and civil and commercial litigation. She represents clients both before the courts and in negotiation and governance mandates.
She has a broad and varied legal background. Before joining the firm, she worked as a lawyer at a boutique law firm renowned for its expertise in Aboriginal law. She also worked as a law clerk to the Honourable Suzanne Côté at the Supreme Court of Canada and to the Honourable Robert M. Mainville at the Court of Appeal of Québec.
Driven by a strong interest in complex legal issues, Laurence deepened her knowledge by completing a Master of Laws at McGill University. Her thesis focused on the written constitution of a First Nation in Québec.
She practises law in both French and English.
Laurence has represented the following clients:
- An Indigenous community in a contractual dispute against a Crown corporation for breaches of contractual obligations, including those with a public dimension such as the honour of the Crown
- An Indigenous community in litigation against the governments of Québec and Canada for failure to fulfill the constitutional duty to consult and accommodate
- An Indigenous community in a consultation process ordered by the court following a judgment declaring a breach of the duty to consult and accommodate
