Catherine Boilard
, MBA LawyerCatherine Boilard practises primarily in civil and commercial litigation, bankruptcy and insolvency law, and restructuring. Her practice spans a variety of areas, including civil liability, contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, and the enforcement of security interests. She also acts in extraordinary remedies, particularly in matters involving injunctions, safeguard orders, and seizures.
Catherine has also developed particular expertise in matters involving the appointment of a provisional administrator under the Act respecting the regulation of the financial sector. She has appeared on numerous occasions before the Court of Appeal, the Superior Court, the Court of Québec, and the Financial Markets Administrative Tribunal in proceedings under the Securities Act and the Act respecting the distribution of financial products and services.
She holds a Master of Business Administration with a focus on financial planning, through which she developed in-depth knowledge of the financial services sector. She subsequently served for nearly 8 years as counsel in the Legal Affairs Division of the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), where she practised administrative and civil litigation, as well as penal law, before joining a regional firm for 1 year.
