A seasoned leader within the legal ecosystem, Xavier will lead Langlois’ overarching innovation and transformation strategy. With his deep understanding of law, business, and technology, he is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between decision-makers and technical experts. Working closely with our leadership, committees, and teams, he will spearhead plans to maximize the impact of technological innovation for our clients and our professionals alike. In addition, Xavier will serve as a strategic advisor to clients, supporting our teams in information technology law, data privacy, data governance, and artificial intelligence law.

A career at the crossroads of law and technology
An accomplished lawyer, technologist, and experienced executive, Xavier brings an impressive track record driving innovation, transformation, legal technology, and AI initiatives. He practised intellectual property and information technology law at leading national firms before spending six years as President and CEO of CanLII, Canada’s leading online platform delivering free access to legal and regulatory information. Most recently, he was Senior Manager, Intelligent Automation and Regional Lead, Legal Transformation at the Canadian office of a global audit and advisory firm. He also holds the prestigious CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) designation.
An influential voice on legal innovation, Xavier has served on the Québec Bar’s Technology Advisory Committee, authored numerous articles for Slaw.ca, and spoken across Canada, the United States, and Europe, including at the ABA Techshow in Chicago, the Annual Conference of the Judiciary of Québec, and for the National Bar Council of France in Lyon.
