On April 14 and 15, 2026, our colleague Tina Hobday, partner, will participate in Professional Regulation and Discipline: New Tools, New Challenges, New Standards, a virtual conference presented by the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
This two-day conference brings together experts to discuss recent court decisions, groundbreaking legislative reforms, and emerging trends shaping professional regulation in Canada, as well as new tools to enhance accountability, efficiency, and public trust.
Tina Hobday will speak in the session Pros and Cons on Regulatory Modernization: Learning from Major Statutory Reform in British Columbia, Developments in Quebec and Pan-Canadian Initiatives, alongside Dianne Millette (Registrar/CEO, College of Health and Care Professionals of BC) and Beverly Balaski (Member, Canadian Nurse Regulators Collaborative (CNRC)). They will discuss the major statutory reform that is reshaping the foundation of professional regulation. You will learn what BC’s new Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) and Québec’s modernization efforts signal for the future, as well as what other jurisdictions should anticipate.
