The Real Estate Law Team at Langlois Continues to Grow

Montréal, October 6, 2016 – With the arrival of three new professionals, this Quebec firm has considerably augmented its legal services offering. In matters involving either transactions or litigation, Langlois Lawyers is now in a position to offer an even broader and more comprehensive range of services in the area of real estate law.

Pierre Audet: a leading professional in real estate law

Pierre Audet has more than 30 years’ experience in commercial litigation, with an emphasis on real estate law and insolvency, areas in which he represents a primarily institutional clientele comprising real estate owners, promoters and real estate managers. Pierre acts for his clients in both litigious and transactional files. “In the real estate field, legal work is cyclical in nature: a lot depends on market conditions. For the last few years, for example, our mandates have often involved bankruptcy and insolvency matters, primarily in the retail sector. Our role is to find effective business solutions in a high-stakes environment where quick action is critical”, stated Pierre. Very active in the legal community, Pierre is a member of the Real Estate Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association’s Quebec Branch, of which he was chair from 2005 to 2007 and from 2012 to 2014.

Gabrielle Thibaudeau and Adèle Poirier: complementary strengths

Gabrielle Thibaudeau specializes in real estate litigation, in actions to pass title and in disputes involving real estate purchase and sale transactions, commercial leases, latent defects, servitudes, rights of way and related matters. She also acts in bankruptcy and insolvency matters on behalf of real estate owners. “At Langlois Lawyers, I’ll be a member of one of the largest litigation teams in Quebec and have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of complex files”, noted Gabrielle.

Adèle Poirier also specializes in real estate law, particularly in the negotiation and drafting of commercial leases and real estate transactions. She also advises and represents real estate owners in bankruptcy and insolvency matters. Adèle added, “the firm’s excellent reputation and my desire to work with a dynamic and close-knit team in real estate made joining Langlois Lawyers a very easy decision.”
