Mylany David: Finalist for the Individual Leadership award of the Canadian Wind Energy Association
Montréal, July 16, 2018 – Law firm Langlois Lawyers congratulates Mylany David, head of the firm’s business law group, on being a finalist for the Individual Leadership awards, to be announced at the 33rd annual awards ceremony of the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA).
These awards honour the exceptional work of professionals committed to build a renewable future for Canada. The individuals and organizations who are finalists are chosen by a jury of peers from all applications submitted, and represent the highest achievers in the wind energy industry. The winners will be announced on October 25 during a luncheon at CanWEA’s annual convention.
About Mylany David and her involvement in the energy field
A member of the Quebec Bar since 1999, Mylany was plunged into several hydroelectric and wind-energy projects at the very outset of her career. At age 34 she became co-head of the renewable energy group at a national Canadian law firm. She represents clients in numerous wind-energy projects in Quebec, particularly regarding power purchase-and-sale transactions and project financing.
Mylany was recruited by Langlois Lawyers to build its business law team, especially in the energy sector. She has since succeeded in convincing several of the most talented lawyers in the industry to join the firm.
Mylany has wide-ranging experience in the legal management of infrastructure projects, primarily in the area of renewable energy. In addition to negotiating agreements for the supply of equipment and electricity and acquiring the property rights required for the project (whether on private or public land) she ensures that the project complies with all bylaws and regulations and meets her client’s goals. Known for her inspiring leadership, she is adept at managing the resources necessary for bringing projects to fruition and meeting client expectations.
