Laurence Bourgeois-Hatto and Florence Forest Join Our Team

Montréal, March 10th, 2015 – Langlois Kronström Desjardins (LKD) is pleased to announce the arrival of two new lawyers in its Montréal office. They are Laurence Bourgeois-Hatto, who joins the firm’s Labour and Employment Law group, and Florence Forest, who is now a member of its Insurance Law group.

Laurence Bourgeois-Hatto practices primarily in the area of labour and employment law, and has specific expertise in labour relations in the construction industry. She also specializes in occupational health and safety, and advises employers on various matters such as individual employment agreements, collective agreement decrees, industrial relations and the protection of personal information. Her litigation experience includes involvement in a major copyright case, injunction files and cases involving work stoppages pursuant to both strikes and lockouts. She has also participated in collective negotiations on behalf of the government of Québec which led to the conclusion of a collective agreement for managers of family daycare services. She has pleaded before the province’s civil and penal courts as well as administrative tribunals such as the Commission des relations du travail and the Commission des lésions professionnelles.

Florence Forest practices primarily in the areas of insurance law and civil and professional liability. She obtained her law degree from the University of Ottawa, where she was actively involved in the university community throughout her studies. In her final year, she founded a scholarship for student involvement and success named Bourse pour l’implication et la réussite, which rewards second-year students in civil law for demonstrated leadership qualities. The third such annual scholarship will be awarded in the spring of 2015. Florence’s academic excellence at law school was recognized in 2013, her final year, when she was named to the Dean’s Honour Roll.

“We are very enthusiastic about the arrival of these two young lawyers in our Montréal office. Their knowledge and expertise are important assets for all members of our firm. They will no doubt enjoy tremendous success in their new home”, stated Jean-François Gagnon, LKD’s managing partner.
