Mathieu Marchand’s practice focuses on corporate and tax law. He represents businesses and individuals in tax planning, international taxation, corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, estate planning and tax litigation.

Mathieu is particularly interested in international taxation. Since 2019, he has attended the sessions of the United Nations Committee of Experts on International Cooperation in Tax Matters. He has completed UN courses on tax treaty negotiation, transfer pricing and mutual agreement procedures delivered by the UN’s Department of Economic and Social Affairs. As part of his Master’s degree in taxation, Mathieu wrote a graduation essay that was shortlisted by the Association de planification fiscale et financière (APFF) for its annual excellence award.

Before joining Langlois Lawyers, Mathieu worked at Revenu Québec. This experience allowed him to deepen his knowledge of tax authority operations and equipped him to analyze files from a variety of perspectives. In addition, Mathieu has practised law in the private sector, focusing on business law and civil and commercial litigation.
