Marie-Pier Desmeules is a member of the litigation group in Langlois lawyers’ Montréal office.
She represents various corporations in a wide array of civil, commercial and public matters, particularly in the areas of contractual liability, product liability, commercial fraud, privacy and access to information. She is also interested in all issues arising from the impact of new technologies on the practice of law.
Marie-Pier has acted in several class actions involving allegations of false representations in advertisements. She has also been involved in proceedings concerning the termination of major commercial agreements.
Before joining Langlois, Marie-Pier practiced for three years at a national firm.
Counsel for a brokerage firm and a used car dealership in connection with the termination of a major commercial agreement.
Counsel for a portfolio manager in connection with a dispute with former business partners over the management and administration of several trusts.
Counsel for a provincial political party in connection with a real estate dispute over the sale of its head office, involving the interpretation of a right of first refusal.
Counsel for one of the main telecommunications corporations in Canada in a class action involving allegations of false representations.
Counsel for a food company in a class action involving allegations of false representations.
Counsel for one the largest global engineering and construction firms in connection with criminal charges of fraud and corruption of foreign public officials laid by the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.
