
Maxime Chouinard

Maxime Chouinard, J.D., M. Fisc., is a lawyer at Langlois Lawyers’ Quebec City office. He devotes a large part of his practice to tax litigation and business law.
His business law practice covers the reorganization and financing of private corporations, mergers and acquisitions, implementing asset protection structures, creating trusts, and negotiating and drafting a variety of commercial agreements. Moreover, Maxime assists charitable organizations in connection with the Canada Revenue Agency’s registration process for charitable donations and advises not-for-profit organizations on corporate matters and issues of governance.
Maxime also provides tax litigation services, which range from representing his clients’ interests in connection with tax audits to court appearances if required. His areas of expertise varies from provincial and federal goods and services taxes to income tax matters, tax claims recovery, scientific research and experimental development tax credits (SR&ED) and access to information issues involving court proceedings at both the provincial and federal levels.
Maxime has a Master’s degree in taxation law, which he obtained after submitting an essay on the tax consequences of filing a proposal under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
Before joining Langlois Lawyers, Maxime practiced corporate restructuring at a large accounting firm in Quebec City. He completed his articles in the legal department of Revenue Quebec.
