Daniel represents private and public sector clients in commercial disputes, administrative and public law proceedings, judicial reviews, arbitrations, class actions, and insolvency matters at both trial and appellate levels.

He has appeared before all levels of courts and tribunals in Québec, the Federal Courts and the Supreme Court of Canada. Daniel regularly acts in multi-jurisdictional disputes involving private international law. He represents clients across a wide range of industries, including the financial, transportation, pharmaceutical, telecommunications, real estate, and technological sectors.

Daniel is a regular speaker on a wide variety of topics relating to advocacy and substantive law. He is an active member of The Advocates’ Society 10+ Standing Committee. For five years, he was a course lecturer in oral and written advocacy at Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Law.

Before joining Langlois, Daniel was counsel for the federal Department of Justice.

Counsel to a multinational pharmaceutical company in a matter before the Supreme Court regarding fraud and banking law.

Counsel to the Chief Financial Officer of a global engineering and construction firm in a multi-jurisdictional class action alleging misrepresentations under the Securities Act.

Counsel to a Canadian telecommunications company in a consumer class action involving international data roaming fees.

Counsel to the CEO of a reporting issuer in a matter involving the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Québec’s administrative tribunals.

Counsel to the Chief Adjudicator of the Indian Residential Schools Adjudication Secretariat in matters involving the Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement.

Counsel to a major financial institution in a case involving cheque fraud.

Counsel to an airline and travel company in an international commercial dispute.

Counsel to a junior mining company in a dispute arising from the acquisition of the Canadian Malartic Mine.

Counsel to one of Canada’s largest energy companies in proceedings to obtain the disclosure of information identifying online wrongdoers.

Counsel to a Canadian university in matters before the Access to Information Commission.

Counsel to a multinational pharmaceutical company in a RAMQ investigation and related judicial proceedings.
