Anne-Laure Damhet
LawyerAnne-Laure Damhet works in the Corporate and Commercial Law group. She focuses her practice on transactional law, especially mergers, acquisitions, and corporate document and commercial contract drafting. She has also had the opportunity to act in energy and cannabis law matters.
Thanks to her background and knowledge of both Québec and French business law, Anne-Laure is well equipped to understand the challenges and needs of French companies doing business in Québec. This value-added approach and tailored service are highly appreciated by the firm's trans-Atlantic clientele.
Anne-Laure’s academic background includes a Master’s degree in comparative business law and an LL.M. in international business law. She also completed a specialized graduate diploma in business administration, which allowed her to adopt a more entrepreneurial approach within her practice. Having completed part of her law studies in France, she has a keen interest in trade issues between Québec and this country. She was also involved in the French political arena for six years, during which she performed assignments on the regional and departmental levels.
A committed citizen since she was very young, Anne-Laure has for 10 years been a member of Rotary International, an organization founded in 1905 with 1.4 million members around the world, whose goal is to work for peace and cultivate the ideal of serving within a network of professionals and leaders. She has worked with this organization on a multitude of community projects, both locally and internationally.
She practises law in French and English, and also speaks Spanish.
In particular, Anne-Laure has served the following clients:
- a banking syndicate of U.S. lenders to finance the C$2.1-billion acquisition of a portfolio of 187 industrial properties in Québec;
- a large-scale European state-owned enterprise operating a civil and commercial railway network in connection with the sale of one of its Québec subsidiaries, a company in the artificial intelligence space;
- Logistik Unicorp Inc., a leading international provider of uniform solutions, in its acquisition of Martin & Lévesque Inc.;
- Environmental 360 Solutions Ltd. in the acquisition of enterprises in Québec specialized in sanitation services and the manufacturing of blasting mats;
- the purchasers in the acquisition of all shares of Sublime Culture Inc., which holds a cannabis production licence;
- employees in the acquisition of their company, an enterprise specialized in the development and manufacture of high-quality cosmetics founded by a French group.
