Sylvain Aird is a seasoned lawyer with a passion for business. He acts as lead counsel in a range of complex and strategic transactions, and is known for his keen business acumen and knack for strategy which he developed through extensive experience in the manufacturing and energy sectors.

Throughout his career, Sylvain has acted in multiple transactions and financings both in Canada and internationally. Companies of all sizes seek his advice on matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, financing, securities and corporate governance.

His years in the corporate world have afforded him a keen understanding of its inner workings through his dealings with entrepreneurs, company founders, executives of large and medium-sized corporations, operators, financial advisors and board members.

Sylvain is a partner in the firm’s Business Law group. Previously, he worked for a TSX-listed renewable energy company operating in North America and Europe, where he held various positions, including Vice-President & Chief Legal Officer, Corporate Secretary, as well as Vice-President of European Development.
