During their presentation, they highlighted the legal issues for IT managers in terms of cyber-security by explaining the duty of diligence and the duty to inform, as well as the duty of proactive prevention when managing information security, with regard to both internal security breaches and outside attacks. They also reviewed heightened security obligations, the obligation to notify in the event of a security breach, and obligations regarding the location of servers.

The next Langlois Lawyers cyber-security conference will be held in May 2017.
