A Langlois Lawyer Interviewed Regarding Ontario’s Draft Highway Safety Bill

The expertise of Nicola Di Iorio, a partner at Langlois lawyers, was called upon by television news program TVA Nouvelles on September 20 regarding an Ontario draft bill on highway safety.

The interviewer wanted to know whether some of the bill’s provisions could be applied in Quebec. But according to Nicola, Quebec has already put in place numerous measures to enhance the safety of road users, and in 2016 it had one of the lowest accident rates in the country. These preventive efforts must continue, he stated.

Nicola has been committed to improved road safety for several years. In particular he is the founder of Cool Taxi, an organization that offers pre-paid coupons that can be used like cash to pay for taxi rides anywhere in Quebec. Its mission is to promote public safety and combat driving-related problems tied to alcohol, marijuana, excessive speed and fatigue.
