Karen M. Rogers Appointed to Québec Superior Court

Montréal, May 5, 2017 – Langlois lawyers is very proud to announce that Karen M. Rogers, a partner and head of the firm’s Litigation group, has been appointed a judge of the Superior Court of Québec. 

Karen’s practice over the years has been characterized by determination and thorough preparation. For more than 25 years, she has developed a practice focused on commercial, civil and regulatory litigation and regulatory investigations. 

Karen has extensive experience representing financial institutions, securities brokers, and insurance companies and their representatives, in professional liability and regulatory matters. She has been involved on a regular basis with administrative investigations before regulatory authorities such as Quebec’s health insurance board (RAMQ), its financial markets regulator (Chambre de securité financière), its regulator of distributors of financial products and services (Autorité des marchés financiers), and the Insurance Board of Canada. In a variety of commercial and contractual litigation files, she has also represented equipment manufacturers, as well as innovative and generic pharmaceutical companies regarding all aspects of their obligations. 

This appointment is in line with a tradition at Langlois lawyers, which has seen many of its partners appointed to the bench. Over the years Karen has been a source of inspiration and know-how for the next generation, just like the firm’s numerous other driving forces.
