Gabrielle Brochu Receives the Quebec Bar’s Mérite du Barreau Award for Social Involvement
Montréal, May 29, 2018 – Langlois lawyers congratulates Gabrielle Brochu, a partner of the firm, who is to receive the Quebec Bar’s Mérite du Barreau award for social involvement during the Journée du Barreau du Québec symposium to be held in Montreal on June 14, 2018. The Mérite awards are conferred on members of the Bar who have distinguished themselves through their exceptional contributions to social justice.
About Gabrielle Brochu and her social involvement
Admitted to the Bar in 2002, Gabrielle attended the Université Montpellier in France and holds an undergraduate degree in law as well as a Master’s degree in Private International Law from Laval University. She has been a partner of the firm since 2011 and is a member of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee. She practices in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, insurance law, professional liability and disciplinary law.
In addition to her professional activities, Gabrielle has been devoted to the cause of suicide prevention for some ten years now. She has spent hundreds of hours on the telephone dealing with and resolving suicidal tendencies experienced by men, women and children in distress. She has been a member the board of directors of Suicide Action Montréal since 2017, affording the benefit of her skills and knowledge to the organization and the community it serves. She is currently working on the implementation of a digital platform to allow individuals in distress to receive counsel and support via text messaging.
