Marc Gravel is a retired partner of the firm. As one of our founding partners, Marc had a major influence on the development of Langlois Lawyers. Throughout his 45-year career with us, he served on the vast majority of our committees.

Marc has acted as legal counsel, attorney and negotiator for clients in labour relations and administrative law. He has worked for employers in organizations of all sizes, including many corporate managers and executives. A seasoned litigator and talented negotiator, he is dedicated to the success of our clients’ businesses.

Marc is a frequent and sought-after lecturer on labour relations and labour law.

In the last years of Marc’s tenure with the firm, he worked closely with Pierre-Olivier Lessard, who now ensures the continuity for the cases. We invite you to contact him as needed.

Representative Work

Negotiations spokesperson for Ministry of Justice
Represented the Ministry of Justice of Quebec in negotiations on a collective agreement for prison guards.

Negotiations spokesperson for the Quebec association of appliance-repair contractors (AEEMQ)
Represented the employers’ negotiating committee in negotiating a collective agreement—extended by decree—for the AEEMQ.

Attorney for the Chambre des huissiers de justice du Québec (Order of Quebec bailiffs) before the Order’s disciplinary committee
Made representations on behalf of the Order in a Montreal case involving Denver Boot-type automobile wheel immobilizers.

Marc contributed to the eighth edition of the book Le droit du travail du Québec. Over the years, he has published a number of general articles on labour law in newspapers and magazines, including articles in the newspaper Le Soleil in 2005 and 2006 on whistleblowing, employee criminal records, the obligation of loyalty, protection of privacy, work absenteeism, job interviews, accommodation in the workplace, etc.
